For more than 80 years, the Vashon Island Strawberry Festival has delighted the people of Vashon and Maury Islands as well as visitors from abroad. You will find over 100 arts and crafts booths featuring ceramics, garden art, food products, clothing, sculpture, stained glass, and more.Specialty foods ' many from Vashon producers ' and musical entertainment are also highlights of this July event. Vashon Island is serviced by the Washington State Ferry System. Car ferries run from the Fauntleroy ferry dock in West Seattle and the Southworth ferry dock in Kitsap County to the north end of Vashon Island. Another car ferry runs between Tacoma's Point Defiance and the Tahlequah ferry dock at the south end of the island. There is also a passenger-only ferry from Downtown Seattle to the north end of Vashon.
